This Means War!!!
I am PISSED and I’m going to get even with this tagger!
I am so freaking pissed off that I can’t see straight! As any faithful visitor (all one of you!) to the site knows, Sheila and I have recently taken the plunge and invested in a condo here in SF. Part of what attracted us to this place is that the homeowners recently got together and approved a special assessment for improvements to the building that included, among many other things, a fresh coat of paint for the entire building, fences and walls etc. The building and grounds look great and it’s clear that our fellow homeowners take pride in the building.

This morning She, one of our friends, and I went out to breakfast. I noticed that someone had tagged the freshly painted wall along Geary street, but only saw a small portion of the vandalism. It was upon our return that I realized the full extent of the defacement. Some punk-ass tagger had scribbled his calling card all along the wall! I would be offended by this senseless attack on a freshly painted wall wherever it occured, but maybe it’s the newly found pride of ownership, or the complete lack of creative effort or artistic content, or as you can see from the photo, the way he got the ENTIRE wall (even past the stairway), but this really pisses me off. As one of the property owners here, it’s our money that will have to pay to remove this crap from our property. I’ll gladly pay my portion to repaint the wall, but even more importantly, I want revenge!!!
How do you extract revenge from an anonymous tagger punk? Well, I think a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction flyer posted on the nearby bus shelter is a nice start. I don’t claim to be up on the vernacular of punk-ass taggers, but I figure this particular scrawl is the initials of the tagger or his crew. I figure these little scribblers do it to impress others. This little shit has probably ridden his skateboard past here several times just to savor his conquest over fresh paint. He’s probably got this same scribble all over his notebook and locker at school. From what I’ve read these guys do it for the recognition. Nice of them to sign their criminal efforts! I bet there’s someone, probably many someones, that know the identity of this punk… And it’s worth 500 bucks to She and me to nail the bastard! Even if we don’t manage to catch and convict the vandal, I hope he sees the wanted poster, and realizes that anyone who knows him and sees the poster can make 500 bucks on his silly ass!
Of course I’ll be discussing graffiti resistant coatings and cleaners etc with our homeowners association. SFPD has an anti-graffiti program with a hotline to report graffiti; I’ll be sure that a police report is filed so that if we do find the guy, we can press charges. This will be a multifaceted attack on this ugly vandalism.
As Bugs Bunny said, “You know this means war!!!”
