These are my babies…

Famous last words…

So this is kinda old, but it still makes me laugh…

Everyone in America is aware of the scummy couple that tried to swindle money out of Wendy’s by planting a finger in a bowl of chili. I’m glad to see that these sorry examples of humanity have pleaded guilty and are going to pay for their crime.

So nothing too funny there… In the investigation of this fraud, the police tried to find the source of the finger. Which they eventually did.

The cops thought they might have the original owner of the finger when they heard about a Pahrump NV (what an armpit that place is) woman who had lost the end of her finger in an encounter with a Snow Leopard.  Say what? How did a woman in NEVADA lose her finger to a SNOW LEOPARD???? Here’s the part where it gets funny…

From the article in the SF Gate:

The investigation took another turn after Carol Asvestas, a director of the Wild Animal Orphanage in San Antonio, called Wendy’s tip hot line Tuesday, saying the finger may have come from a woman in Pahrump, a small town about an hour’s drive west of Las Vegas.

Asvestas said she had been called to the property by owner Sandy Allman, 59, who requested help in rescuing six tigers and three leopards. Allman inherited the large cats from her ex-boyfriend.

During the Feb. 23 visit, Allman put her hand in the cage of a leopard named Anthony, who leaped forward and bit off the tip of Allman’s left middle finger, Asvestas said.

“She was saying these are my babies, they would never hurt me, and then less than two seconds later, Anthony reared up and bit her, and the finger dropped inside the cage,” Asvestas said.

Oh man, let me wipe the tears from my eyes....

That is just precious, “These are my babies, they would never hurt me...” AAAAAHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG my finger!!!!!!!!

That is on par with SF Chron Executive Editor, and former Mr. Sharon Stone, Phil Bronstein’s BAREFOOT(!!!) encounter with a Komodo Dragon… Phil, who had always “wanted to see a Komodo Dragon up close.” almost lost a toe in the incident.

I wish I had the imagination to think stuff like this up, but I don’t. So I’ll just have to rely on reality and keep reading the newspaper for my daily dose of humor…
