Dear Scummy Comment Spammer

An open letter to the bastard that has been (attempting to) comment spam my site…

I have a small web site, shooter.net.

You, Thomas Reece (likely a false name, certainly a false phone number in the whois registry) have been attempting to use my site to promote your many sleazy gambling and medication sites.

PLEASE STOP THIS NOW.

Your efforts have done NOTHING but steal the joy of sharing my photos and journal entries. You have got NO BENEFIT whatsoever as I deleted your comments and when that didn’t work have disallowed comments altogether.  Now you are leaving trackbacks. I don’t even display trackback information on my site! I don’t know what you think you are accomplishing… THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TAKING THE FUN AWAY FROM MY INTERNET EXPERIENCE.  It’s people like you, you scummy piece of shit, with your selfish behavior that ruin a good thing for everyone. SPAMMERS have so polluted email that it’s almost worthless, and can’t be used for critical information. Now you’re trashing blogs left and right. I hate you!

I am a systems engineer by trade. I write Perl scripts. If you continue to bombard my site with unwanted traffic, I will write a Perl script just for you. It’ll AUTOMATICALLY complain about your behavior to your hosting provider for each of the sites that you are attempting (and failing) to promote on my site. The combination of violating the terms of usage for my site, coupled with your FALSE contact information (phone number) in your whois registry data, is almost certainly a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy of all legitimate providers. The best part is that my little script will keep complaining (in real time) as you move from provider to provider until you leave my site alone and update your whois information to contain legitimate contact info.

I’ll do my best to make it difficult for you to continue to serve your sites by getting you closed down in as many places as possible. I may or may not hurt you, but I’ll do my best to irritate you at least as much as you irritate me.

Trust me, it’ll be easier if you just leave my site the fuck alone!
